The '22-23 Mixtape is a collection of works by US producer DJ Boring, beat maestro extraordinaire, and someone we're grateful to have as part of the Daftpop family. Previously based in Beijing and now calling Tokyo home, this collection showcases his versatile abilities in terms of beat making, sample selection, and smooth production, spanning everything from lo-fi hip hop, ambient house, to left field techno.

Daftpop Sounds had the pleasure of producing a limited run of real time dubbed cassettes for DJ Boring featuring an alternative hour long mix which spans both sides of the tape. As these tapes were dubbed in real time they enjoy fat, warm low end and crisp highs — in effect every tape is a master tape. If you're based in the Asia/Pacific region you can grab a tape also via Boring's Bandcamp. Daftpop Sounds has a small run of these tapes for the UK and Europe. To give you a taste we've put the first 10 or so minutes of the tape up for streaming. We hope you enjoy this mixtape as much as we have.

With a journey that began as far back as 2009, he has evolved from a radio DJ and experimental beat-maker for the experimental electronic rap ensemble, Basshunter64, at the University of Georgia (USA). DJ Boring’s story is one that spans continents and soundscapes, having called Asheville, North Carolina, New Delhi, India, Beijing, China, and now Tokyo, Japan home. DJ Boring continues to produce beats of all styles, amass a heady vinyl collection, and spin everything from house and techno to club favorites, pop and hip-hop beats.
